Biography
Janet Hostetler believes that people Make Sense, Deserve Respect, and are Sacred. She specializes in Relationship Therapy and Communication Skills with couples, families, and groups, and has been Certified as an Imago Relationship Therapist since 1997. Ms. Hostetler has assisted in the Getting the Love You Want Workshops, as seen on the Oprah Winfrey show recently and throughout the years; and has taught these skills at the UN with groups as diverse as the Hutu and Tutsi peoples of Rwanda that immigrated to the United States after the Rwandan genocide occurred. She is a passionate member on 7 committees of the Imago Peace Project (http://imagopeaceproject.org). The Rwandan woman, Immaculee Ilibigiza, who contacted her to teach these skills, has now written a New York Times best selling book titled, Left to Tell, Discovering God Amidst the Rwandan Holocaust. Janet Hostetler has been in the field of counseling since 1975 and has been in private practice in the Palm Beach Gardens area since 1988. Ms. Hostetler has been licensed since 1986 and is also certified both internationally and statewide by the NCRC and the CBAPF respectively, as an addiction professional. Ms. Hostetler also specializes in all addictive behaviors including but not limited to gambling, sexual addiction, eating disorders/food addiction, and shopping addiction. She was a guest on the local television affiliate of American Broadcasting Network (ABC)., where she discussed shopping addiction as well as the grief process. She has had extensive experience treating families of addicts and co-dependency in general. In 1988, she facilitated the family program at the Palm Beach Institute, providing educational lectures and therapy groups addressing co dependency. In addition, she has facilitated the Eating Disorders Support Group sponsored by the Mental Health Association of Palm Beach County, where she was presented an award of excellence for her service.
